This one gets some paid versions then a free update that contains all the paid content. Ultimately the paid version is a thank you and early access to the new content.

I deleted the old version data and could play again.
However I think I have it twice in the libary. I think it was true when they said the itch.io is kinda broken.
However it feels better to download what I can this way.

From that sum, itch's fees, payment systems's fees, and taxes are removed. Whatever is left goes to the author. Fees and taxes may depend on the amount processed, usually being more favorable for higher amounts. As for what I need, I don't have an answer. I appreciate every donation and they surely motivate me, but this is a pleasant hobby turned side gig for me, and I am happy with my work being appreciated and the community around it being healthy.

Whenever something new is added, why do I have to start a new game to get it? Why are the variables not auto set when I load my saves from the previous version?
That happens when a new scene relies on variables that did not even exist in previous releases. When loading from a save, the chapter that initializes the variables (new ones included) is not run, and thus one must start over.

Installation is not required for HTML games. You just need to open the html file after unzipping the zip file.

I think you need to delete your cookies and browser history. The game is finding a previous load, so it is not re-initialising the variables.
